A light and compact roller-rocker-arm assembly and shim-type valve adjustment allows a lower valve-spring load for reduced friction and a compact cylinder head.
Durability
The pins in the silent cam chain have been treated with vanadium, which both reduces friction and improves durability. The lightweight pistons use the same advanced manufacturing process as those found in the CBR1000RR. To ensure precise cylinder shape, the engine uses the same centrifugal-cast thin-wall sleeves as found in the CBR1000RR.
Reduced friction
The oil pump’s internal relief structure uses the same design as found in the CBR1000RR, which reduces friction, improves aeration performance and simplifies the shape of the oil pan.

The lightweight diamond-shaped steel frame was designed to allow a certain degree of yield, which enables it to better respond to changes in the road surface and to transmit just the right amount of feedback to the rider.

"The Pro-Link® rear suspension boasts a single-tube shock absorber (as found on larger capacity sportbikes) with five-stage spring preload adjustment, replacing the double-tube design of the previous model. Its large-diameter piston helps to ensure excellent suspension response and improved heat dissipation. Both the shock and the adjustable 41 mm fork are calibrated for a comfortable but sporty ride."

A dual-piston brake caliper up front and a single-piston caliper at the back are designed to provide strong but easily controlled stopping power. Plus, two-channel ABS gives you extra peace of mind on reduced-traction road surfaces. Wave brake rotors with superlative heat-dissipating qualities are lighter than conventional discs of the same diameter, which help to further reduce the bike’s unsprung weight.

OUR COMPANY’S HISTORY

It all started in a small farmhouse in the tiny village of Zbaraz, located 17 miles northwest of Arborg, MB. This was where Mike Shachtay Sr. began the legacy of Shachtay Sales & Service. Mike Sr. left the family farm to travel to Guelph, SK to get factory training to become a Smith-Roles farmer agent. Upon his return as a Smith-Roles dealer, he began selling welders and air compressors to the neighbours and local farmers. As Mike Sr. began to sell more and more, his product offerings also grew. Today, after more than 52 years in business, Shachtay Sales & Service moved its headquarters to Arborg. It is now a second-generation, 100% family-owned business. Mike Sr. passed away in 1983. To honour his memory and to fulfil the family’s commitment to the farming community, Rita and Mike Shachtay Jr. continue to operate our company. From a small business, our company is now a major player in the agriculture, lawn and garden, and recreational markets. We provide services not only to the Interlake and surrounding areas but also to our customers located as far as Europe and Central America.
